Working With Patchwork Press
Y’all… I couldn’t be more excited today! I am honored and proud to announce that I’m working with Patchwork Press to publish my books! Kellie and Erica over at PWP are amazingly talented, and their whole team of authors is absolutely wonderful. I am so thrilled to be a part of the team and can’t wait for the future!
And if some of you are saying, “Who’s Mickey Reed?” well, that’s me. Haha! Eliza Boyd is the pen name I’ll publish my fiction under. You can look forward to some nonfiction under Mickey Reed, but I won’t talk much about that here. Yet, anyway.
I’ve been a little (okay, very) hush-hush about my pen name, but it was mostly for reasons I need to get over.
No matter what, I was going to publish. So why shouldn’t I publish and be proud of what I’ve done? Why should I feel like I have to hide behind a name in case I fail? This goes back to the post last week about success and how subjective that is. I won’t get into that again, but I do want to say that I’m proud of my book. I have written an entire book and will publish it next Friday.
For the world to judge.
Okay, that’s a little bit of a stretch. I certainly doubt the whole world will know about my book, but you get it, right? This business can be harsh. People can be cruel. And I’ve seen it all happen to good people. But that shouldn’t scare me or stop me from accomplishing a dream. Not everyone will like it, and I’m okay with that. People already have read it and enjoyed it, so what more could I ask for?
In any case, this post is more about Patchwork Press and their amazingness. Kellie and Erica have been in my world for at least two years now. I’ve edited their books, and MAN, are they talented! I’m blown away that they want to work with me, so this is incredible. They have a whole list of awesome books under their belts, and the PWP family does too!
Not only that, but they also run Write All Year, which is like NaNoWriMo but ALL YEAR! And they host word sprints to keep writers on track to hit their goals. They’re basically some superior race of human being, because they’re SO busy and so organized and still so awesome and productive and talented. I could go on and on. But really, just go give them some love.
I wrote about all of this here on Facebook. Feel free to check that out. I’ll be in my happy bubble. Come join me.
